[EXCLUSIVE] What is Cisco next level certification? goodbye RS
In the early hours of this morning, the Cisco conference in the United States announced that the new certification system will be released on February 24, 2020. All SPOTO members in the study group were discussing this topic. They all wanted to know if it was true or not. And how it would affect them. Some people in the group think that is better to take the test before the change, and some people think that is better to take the test after the change. So when is the right time to take the exam? Don’t worry, The existing certification is still valid, but if the certification is obtained after February 24, new certification and related certificates will be obtained. Also, I have some personal Suggestions for you in the end.
Cisco next level certification
Big change for cisco next level certification
CCNA change
· The CCNA of the original 9 directions was combined, and only one subject was tested. The test code was 200–301
CCNP changes:
· The former track of CCNP RS and CCNP Wireless was merged into the track of CCNP Enterprise.
· The form of CCNP exam has been changed. The previous 3–5 written exams are required to pass, while the next generation of CCNP certification only needs to pass 2 exams, namely, one compulsory exam and one optional exam.
· The next generation CCNP can be tested directly without the need for CCNA certification.
CCIE change
· RS exits the history stage, RS track is changed to Enterprise direction, and the existing RS certification is automatically upgraded to Enterprise infrastructure certification after the new certification is issued.
· Change the track of Design to DevNet, CCDA to DevNet Associate, and CCDP to DevNet Professional.
· Enterprise Infrastructure(formerly R&S) and Enterprise Wireless(formerly Wireless) have the same IE written test.
· NP written test and IE written test are the same, so you can choose to directly take the NP/IE written test and pass the LAB as CCIE or refer to an optional test and become CCNP, which is more flexible.
· LAB test module is changed from TS+DIAG+Configuration into design + deployment, operation and optimization modules.
· The form of recertification is changed to 120 credits before activation, which is similar to NP certification. Only one core exam and one optional exam are required
· The next generation CCIE is still valid for 3 years, but after 3 years, it can be activated simply by retaking the written test, without taking LAB activation again
· Ten years honors CCIE changed to twenty years honors CCIE
That’s all for today’s cisco conference. Six years of evolution has led to the next generation of networking
In general,
The transformation of Cisco indicates that the certification of network engineers in the next generation will be more systematic and diversified. It advocates that one major (core exam) is more precise (optional exam), and the study direction and content can be flexibly selected according to their own interests or business needs.
At the same time, automation and development are involved in each direction, giving engineers the opportunity to move to a higher level of design and development.
New changes bring new challenges, but also new opportunities, actively embrace the new era, our generation of network engineers is the best era.
